Mappa
The Challenge
designing the onboarding flow for new users and building out a space for users to redeem points.
Rideshare Association of America, an Atlanta-based startup that’s on a mission to support gig economy workers (like Uber drivers, Doordash delivery, etc.) came to us to design and develop their newest launch, Mappa.
Mappa is a mobile video game where users earn points for playing the game, or by linking their accounts and simply drive, ride, and order as usual. The points earned can be redeemed in an in-app “shop” offering a wide range of items.

Solution
Our final proposal to Rideshare Association was to reconsider their MVP. If released without the game, they would increase their speed to market and start gaining users while continuing to develop the game.
Our major challenges throughout the process were 1. not having insight into the game as it was in development with a separate team and 2. our research told us that gig employees don't need or want a video game.
We designed our prototype to be fully functional with or without the video game. The key value proposition to users, based on research, is earning rewards and benefits for what they are already doing by simply linking their rideshare and delivery account(s).

Redeeming Points
Once a user has accrued enough points they can shop and redeem points for items through the app.
